The GEMS Regulator and the New Zealand Regulator are responsible for reviewing and processing registration applications for Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and energy rating labelling in each country. The regulators are also responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance.
All regulated products must be registered with the appropriate regulator before they can be sold in Australia or New Zealand.
